Barcaple is a 6-day activity residential run by the Youth Work and Ministry at Moortown Baptist Church, headed up by Glenda the Youth Minister, and led by a fantastic team of volunteer youth workers who work regularly with our 11-14′s at activities including Rock Solid, Grounded and Small Groups.
The activities at Barcaple are led by qualified instructors and Barcaple itself is situated on the edge of the unspoilt Southern Uplands between the craggy Solway coast and the rolling Galloway hills, near Castle Douglas. Set in its own 18 acre estate, the house dates back to Victorian times. For more details visit the website at www.abernethytrust.org.uk.
We travel to Barcaple by coach leaving from Moortown Baptist Church.
As ever the whole team is really looking forward to the week – past years at Barcaple have always been enjoyed by all who attended. The activities haven’t been finalised yet, but examples include zip-wire, archery, kayaking, mountain biking, open canoeing, raft building and rock climbing. Do let us know if you have any favourites! In addition to this, we will spend time in a fun, challenging and relevant way exploring the bible.
