Sunday Services

Sunday Mornings at Moortown Baptist Church, 10.30am
The Sunday Morning Service is the heart of our church life. We meet to worship, pray and learn. There is a focus on taking part, teaching from the Bible and experiencing God in ways that flow into everyday life. Once a month we have a Communion Service. On a Sunday morning the church is full of people of all ages and from many different backgrounds. We meet as one together and offer groups for children (Family Church) and young people (Grounded) in the second part of the service. A staffed Crèche runs throughout the morning service. Services finish at about 12 noon with tea and coffee.

What people notice about us…

  • The music music (guitars, keyboards, drums and singing) blends a band with the organ in contemporary worship
  • There is a strong focus on bible teaching
  • There are a lot of children and young people having a great time
  • You don’t need to dress up – just wear what you feel comfortable in
  • There are people on the door to welcome you and answer any questions you may have
  • It’s a busy, lively church – you need to arrive early to get a parking space (if you’re driving) and find a seat!

Sunday Evenings at Moortown Baptist Church
Sunday evenings are open to all. They are an offering to those who are already part of Moortown Baptist Church as well as visitors.

We have a menu of different services on Sunday evenings. Each service has a style and focus which is designed for people of any church background or none. We are part of the wider church family so we welcome people to come along. All evening services start at 6pm.

First Sunday in the month
Communion service – we share bread and wine together with bible teaching

Second Sunday
Prayer evening – time for creative prayer to express something of the rythym and heartbeat of Christian life

“Three”, meeting on the third Sunday of the month
It’s named “Three” because it takes place on the third Sunday of the month.

The style is informal, reflective and contemporary. It’s less structured than our Sunday morning services, giving generous space for inspiring worship, great teaching, prayer and ministry. A superb start to the new week!

A small group meets a couple of times a month to study, pray and plan for “Three”. Tea and coffee is served afterwards.

“Divine” meeting on the fourth Sunday of the month
“Divine” is our monthly youth service led by our young people and you can find out more about it here
