A warm welcome for Rev Tony Parry

21 October 2011

The final Sunday of the month (October 30th) finds Graham and Glenda continuing their fact-finding trip to Parklands Baptist Church in Nairobi so it’s a great pleasure to welcome to MBC a guest speaker – Rev’d Tony Parry.

Tony is a busy man for not only is he an ordained Bishop in the New Testament Church of God who for the last 11 years has been the Senior Pastor for the New Testament Church of God in Bradford, he is also a former chair of the West Yorkshire African Caribbean Council of Churches and the Churches Regional Commission for Yorkshire and Humber.

A Justice of the Peace since 1996 Tony is passionate about and active in the spheres of racial justice, youth and social enterprise.  This is evident when we see that Tony is also a Children’s Services Manager for the Barnardo’s Community Action Service in Leeds, an organisation which promotes community development and young people’s achievement projects and a qualified Social Worker.

Finally, but by no means least Tony who also who holds Master’s Degrees in Biblical Studies and Business Administration is an Ecumenical Canon of Bradford Cathedral.  His talk to us today will continue the theme “Being Chris” – a series of sermons which looks at how we live a Christian life from cradle to grave.
