Gardening and Beacon Café, a message from Kate

Gardening

This coming Saturday (May 8th) Rod Russell will be working on the new garden at the side of church and we could do with a few strong and willing volunteers to help.  From about 10am we need help with:

Digging. Putting benches together. Erecting a second Gazebo. Clearing out round the back of church and next to the walled section by the corner room, ready for a new fence, and anything else that might crop up!

Please let me know if you can help, Thanks

Beacon Cafe

On Monday 10th of May we need a few volunteers to help to set up, serve drinks and clear up afterwards.  If you can help please contact Karen Ross on karen.r6oss@ntlworld.com.

We would also welcome anyone who feels they would be able to offer help on a Monday on a regular basis and join our wonderful team of volunteers (which at the moment is very small). The work is not arduous and apart from helping to set up, clear up and serve drinks, it also involves an awful lot of sitting talking to people whilst drinking coffee and eating cake!

Even if you are only available for part of the time it would be a great help and you don’t have to be available every week.

Beacon currently runs from 10am until around 1pm ish and we are hoping that anyone and everyone feels they are welcome to attend. In addition to our regulars we would like to see families young and older, parents who have a spare hour or so after dropping their kids off at school, people who feel lonely and isolated after lockdown, people in the community, people walking past.  If you think this is something you could help with please let me or Karen know.

Many thanks

Kate
